How did your amputation occur?
Lawnmower accident at the age of 19.

Where do you work / what do you do?
I’m retired I worked as a Machinist for a bit over 42 years.

Out of all of your accomplishments, which are you most proud of and why?
Being able to continue on with things and letting people know that they will be okay. Don’t let anything
keep you from your goals. I’m still mowing my own lawn, shoveling snow, working in the yard and keeping up the household.

What hobbies or activities are you involved in? Why do you enjoy them?
Bird and deer hunting. I enjoy them because I worked indoors for 42 years and I enjoy the outdoor freedom also enjoy target shooting. Bicycle riding is also an activity I enjoy.

How big of a role does the proper function and fit of your prosthesis play in making it a good or bad day?
It is a huge part of a good day.

What has your experience been like with SRT?
Fantastic. Thank you to SRT for being able to touch so many lives in a tremendously positive way.

Here’s the big one…. what would you like to say to a new amputee to encourage them?
Never surrender keep your chin up. Always move forward. There will be bad days but they will be outweighed by the good.
